Hi! I’m Melanie,

When I look back on my career, I think it’s safe to say I’m not afraid to try new things. I’ve been a civil engineer in the Air Force, an environmental engineer in private industry, opened and operated my own Yarn Shop, worked in the fitness industry, and went back to school for a Motion Graphics certificate in my 40’s.

Throughout these career changes, one this has always remained consistent… my love for textiles and working with my hands. I learned to sew when I was a little girl, learned to knit in my 20s, and learned to weave and spin in my 30s. Most of the work I create is on my 1950’s 10 harness Macomber floor loom, or my 4 harness Harrisville floor loom. I do occasionally break out my rigid heddle loom for quick and simple projects.
